Lloyd's Register of Quality Assurance first approved Brafe in 1987 to the qualification now known as ISO9001:2000. We believe that we were one of the first companies in the world to be accredited with this and have held the approval continuously, without interruption.

In addition, Brafe has been approved as a casting and material manufacturer by Lloyd's Register of Shipping (LRS), American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and Bureau Veritas Marine Division (BV Marine).

We are also qualified as a manufacturer of special materials according to the requirements of Norsok M-650 Rev 3. The approval range covers the following materials:

ASTM A995: 4A Duplex Stainless Steel to MDS-D46 (UNS J92205).
ASTM A995: 6A Super Duplex Stainless Steel to MDS-D56 (UNS J93380).
ASTM A494: CW6MC Nickel Alloy to MDS-N02 (Inconel® 625).
ASTM A494: CX2MW Nickel Alloy to MDS-N02 (Hastelloy® 'C22').
ASTM A351: CK3MCuN Austenitic Stainless Steel to MDS-R16 (254 SMO®).

The approval covers sand and investment castings in all materials, with a wall thickness up to 80mm (88mm for MDS-D46), and no upper limit on the casting weight.
